Berceto is a crucial point on the route; organized
by the Longobards to connect Padania with
Tuscia. The Romanesque Duomo is dedicated to Moderanno, the bishop of Rennes that settled in Berceto. The most consistent plastic
complex is found in the sculptures on the main
and north entrances from the late 12th century. The lunette of the main entrance depicts Christ
on the Cross.
